Scope & Timeline
The lack of access to proper menstrual care and education affects many populations of women around the globe. Our research will focus particularly on its effects in the US. We will work directly with local populations in our data collection process, using individual surveys in addition to provided hard data. Our research plan of surveying and analyzing the responses of parents/guardians of middle school students to understand their level of knowledge, attitudes towards menstruation, and experiences with menstruation will hopefully guide us to the answers that we can add to the current body of literature.
Presentations
Since the formation of our team, we have presented our research at the University of Maryland's Undergraduate Research Day and the Gemstone Do Good showcase. We defended our thesis at the Gemstone Thesis Conference in April 2022.
